Wow! I am mind-blown by this authentic Italian restaurant in Thun, Switzerland. This was by-far the best pizza I have ever had! It has been hard for me to find gluten-free and vegan options until now, and here at Del Padre, they have incredible soft gluten-free crust, deliciously roasted vegetables and most importantly, gourmet ans perfectly-melting vegan mozzarella cheese. Additionally, they serve incredible sauces to compliment your order - olio basilico, olio piccante, Erbette aglio e olio, oregano and pepperocino. They even made a specialty arribiata sauce upon request that was out of this world!
The flavors were enough for me to rate this is as one of my favorite restaurants in Switzerland, but add to that the most picturesque view and ambiance by the river with beautiful, old weeping willow trees offering shade. And directly above the restaurant, a view of the Schloss Thun Castle creates an other-worldly feel to match the impressive authenticity of the food.
And to top all of this off with a great wine list and an amerreto to finish, and you cannot ask for a better experience from start to finish. I am amazed by the quality of the food, the service, and the ambiance.
I cannot recommend this restaurant enough to anyone. I will be traveling back to Switzerland at least twice per year, just to eat delicious, gourmet, authentic, healthy Italian food at Del Padre.
Delicious gluten free options. My mom and I both have to be gluten free due to celiac/gluten intolerance. She said that her meal (pasta dish, unfortunately cannot remember the name) was the best gluten free meal she’s ever gotten from a restaurant. I had a gluten free margarita pizza (pictured) that was also very good!
The service was great! Product knowledge, suggestive selling..the ambiance was nice, so clean and smell good. Pizza was super! Worth a try and highly recommended.

This is a very nice place by the river. Pizza was very tasty, it’s served with many oils, herbs and spices. Prices are affordable- for pizza and two beers we paid 36 CHF and were both full and happy. The service was kind and nice. We will come back for sure.
